Scarlett Johansson became a first-time mom this past fall with the birth of her daughter, Rose Dorothy.

And now the actress, 30, is chatting with Barbara Walters, 85, about new motherhood in an interview for the journalist’s upcoming ABC special ‘The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014.’

“It’s wonderful. It’s very, very magical — and exhausting. The love is just unbelievable. It’s very overwhelming,” she told Barbara of her bond with Rose.

Scarlett — who confirmed on Sept. 4 that she had given birth to her first child with husband Romain Dauriac — added she has loved embracing the responsibilities that come with parenting.

“[I do] the whole bit,” she said. “I’m nursing and I love it. It’s the best way to get back in shape.”

Recently speaking to Germany’s ‘Gala’ magazine, Scarlett also opened up about being a mom.

“It’s exhausting in the most wonderful way. I never thought how much sleeping through the night would mean to me. I still lack experience. Right now I’m just trying to manage. You have to first learn the ropes,” she said.
