It appears that Sarah Ferguson will attend Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding after all, despite reports to the contrary emerging over the weekend. According to the Daily Mail, the decision is "a bid to heal broken family ties" caused by Prince Andrew’s divorce from the Duchess of York. With Kensington Palace ready to send out wedding invitations this week, it’s thought that Sarah will attend at least "part of the day."
The paper added that the Duchess was "quietly hoping" to "experience a dry run of sorts" before her youngest daughter Princess Eugenie marries Jack Brooksbank in October, also at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Previous reports had suggested that Harry was "adamant" that Sarah's name would not appear on the 600-person guest list, despite being close friends with her daughters (and his cousins) Princess Beatrice and Eugenie.

Sarah was not invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011, and later told Oprah Winfrey that she flew to Thailand in the lead up to the ceremony. "I was not invited, and I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Kamalaya," she said, adding, "I wanted to be there with my girls... to be getting them dressed and to go as a family. And also it was so hard because the last bride up that aisle was me."
While it’s not yet clear whether Sarah will accompany her ex-husband Prince Andrew and her daughters to the Windsor ceremony, there’s always the possibility that she’ll attend the evening reception. "There is a separate party later on, which happened at William and Kate’s wedding, where different guests are able to attend who didn’t get an invite to the official ceremony and dinner," a source told The Sun. "That guest list is much bigger and there is a different planning stage to that. It’s possible the palace can get around some awkward diplomatic tensions by using the party."
