Sara Evans on Launching a Record Label at Age 46 — “I’m Getting More and More Confident Every Year”

In an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, country singer Sara Evans shares how life has gotten better for her with age — and opens up about her upcoming record label!

After a painful divorce in 2007, Sara tells Closer that self-assurance is what helped the former ACM top female vocalist move on and find her bliss with husband, Jay Barker — who now have a blended family of seven children. “It was really easy,” she says of the harmony the kids — who range in age from 12 to 18 — have shared since the beginning. “It was kind of neat.”

Now the busy mom has something special to toast: On Friday, July 21, her CD Words will be released on the Born to Fly Records label she recently launched. “You just know that everything’s going to work out,” the budding label head says of how empowered she feels as she takes on this new career challenge at age 46.

“Every year you become more confident — and I love having that confidence!” she gushes to Closer, adding that there will be more projects on the horizon.
