Just one week after announcing she's battling breast cancer, Sandra Lee has bravely undergone a double mastectomy.
"Sandra is out of surgery! She is currently in a recovery room with [boyfriend] Governor Cuomo and her sister Kimber. She's still a little groggy, but grateful the surgery is completed for today," representatives for the TV chef posted on her Facebook page earlier today.

Sandra's longtime boyfriend, Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo, 57, also issued a statement about the procedure.
"Around 8 a.m. this morning, Sandy underwent surgery that concluded just before 1 p.m.," he said on Tuesday, May 19.
"I am happy to report that she is doing as well as could be expected and has begun the post-surgery recovery process. On behalf of Sandy and myself, I want to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers over the last few days. Your support has meant the world to us."

On Tuesday, May 12, Sandra, 48, announced she was recently diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ, a common form of noninvasive breast cancer contained within the breasts' milk ducts, during an interview with Good Morning America.

"I just was still, I didn't even cry — I was stunned. And that's just how fast life turns — it turns on a dime," the star said of the day she learned she had cancer. She additionally revealed she had already undergone a lumpectomy and her doctors recommended she receive six to eight weeks of radiation therapy and a double mastectomy to treat the disease.
