Sally Field has been making out with a guy half her age. “He just is this absolute gumdrop of a human,” says the 69-year-old. But she adds, “...and of an actor.”
So yes, the passionate kissing she’s been doing is onscreen with New Girl’s Max Greenfield, 35, who stars opposite Sally in her new movie, Hello, My Name Is Doris. Sally plays a 60-something woman who falls for her younger co-worker, and the actress couldn’t be more thrilled to be headlining again — the first time since 1996’s Eye for an Eye.

“There’s not a moment in this film that’s like anything I’ve done before,” Sally told Closer at a Doris press conference in LA. “Not a second or a moment.”

The role was an early birthday present to herself. Sally turns 70 in November, and after a series of setbacks, including two failed marriages, a star-crossed relationship with Burt Reynolds and a struggle with anxiety and bulimia, she’s embracing the contentment she’s finally found in life.
