Ryan Reynolds on New Fatherhood: ‘Baby James is All About Mom — I’m Dead to Her’
Ryan Reynolds may be his daughter James’ No. 1 fan — but baby James seems to prefer mom Blake Lively instead!
“[It’s] all about mom. I am dead to her, literally dead to her. That’s her first words, ironically,” the 38-year-old actor joked about his seven-month-old daughter during an interview on Conan on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

“Right now, she’s starting to say ‘Mama,’ but there’s an unfair advantage there — it turns out breasts are actually a life support system and the child seems to gravitate towards the breasts. I’m just the breastless a–hole wandering around the room and getting in her sight line every once in a while,” he continued.
The actor also opened up about the day his wife went into labor last winter — and revealed Blake was quite the jokester in the delivery room!
“My wife is the real, I mean she is a mercenary. At one point in the middle of the delivery, the doctor’s cell phone went off and she said, ‘Oh, no. Go ahead, take a personal call. Feel free.’ She was cracking jokes in the delivery room. She may have been on drugs, but I don’t ask personal questions,” he said.

Ryan and Blake, 27, welcomed their first child in December 2014. The couple previously met in early 2010 on the set of the film Green Lantern and married in September 2012 in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
