It’s a girl… and her name is James!

Though their daughter‘s moniker was leaked in February, Ryan Reynolds officially revealed his three-month-old baby with wife Blake Lively is named James during a new ‘Today Show’ interview.

“It’s Butternut Summersquash,” Ryan, 38, joked to co-anchor Willie Geist before adding, “It’s James, everyone knows.”

As for why the A-list couple chose not to reveal what they call their tot before now, the actor explained he didn’t want his daughter to be upset he announced her name to the public when she’s older.

“I didn’t want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media,” he said during the sit-down, which will air on Wednesday, April 1. “Because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, ‘Why did you do that?'”
