The ‘Roseanne’ Reboot Is Coming Soon! See the First Behind-the-Scenes Photos

Calling all Roseanne fans! The sitcom's reboot is set to come back to the small screen in 2018, and though we've been talking about it for months now, it's exciting to finally see that it's starting to come together with some behind-the-scenes photos!

The revival was first announced in May, and now that it's October, the beloved cast has begun filming. From the looks of the pics, it seems many of your favorites have come back, including Roseanne Barr as Roseanne Conner, John Goodman as Dan Conner (we guess he's risen from the dead?!), Laurie Metcalf as Jackie Harris, Sara Gilbert as Darlene Conner, Michael Fishman as D.J. Conner, Lecy Goranson as Becky Conner, and Sarah Chalke in an unknown role at this time. It's also been rumored that Johnny Galecki will make a guest appearance, but we haven't seen him in any photos yet. Earlier this month, photos were released from the show's first table read, which has us even more excited for the revival!

In a previous interview, President of ABC Entertainment Channing Dungey opened up about the upcoming eight episodes. "We had a lot of conversations with [executive producer] Tom Werner when he first came in. We've now heard the broad strokes of the creative [direction] for these eight episodes and feel confident that it'll return to the show we all love," she said. "It is very much tonally similar to the original show. It is unflinching, it is honest, it is irreverent at times, and it's also really, really funny. Very topical. We're not talking specifically about the universe that we live in in that way, but we are addressing issues like foreclosure. We're addressing how difficult it is for people to get medical insurance. We're talking about topics in a bigger, broader way. We're not necessarily talking about the occupants of the White House."

In a previous interview, Sara revealed the cast had some input on their characters' reboot storylines "I don’t think that an actor’s voice is going to trump a writer or anything like that, but we have been putting together the Roseanne reboot [and] we went to all the actors and said 'Where do you think your character is?'" she said. "Now, nobody had, like, a major diva moment, like, 'My character has to be this, or has to be that,' and ultimately it will be in the writers' hands, but I think it’s so valuable, no one does know their character as well as the people who play them, in a certain way." We can't wait to watch the new episodes!
