Rest in peace, Tony Burton.
The actor, who starred alongside Sylvester Stallone as Apollo Creed's trainer, Tony "Duke" Evers, in 1976's Rocky, has sadly died. He was 78-years-old.

Tony's younger sister, Loretta Kelley, confirmed the star passed away on Thursday, Feb. 25 from an unknown illness to MLIve. Kelley revealed Tony had been hospitalized several times throughout the last year but was never given an official diagnosis from his doctors.

Following his death, Tony's former Rocky costar Carl Weathers — who played Apollo Creed in the hit film — remembered his late friend on Twitter. "Sad news. RIP Tony Burton. His intensity and talent helped make the Rocky movies successful. #BePeace," he wrote.

After his lead role in Rocky, Sylvester, 70, went on to have a long and successful acting career appearing in 1993's Cliffhanger, The Expendables franchise and five more Rocky films. He most recently reprised his role as Rocky in the 2015 movie, Creed.
