Three months after his father’s tragic suicide, Robin Williams‘ eldest child, Zak Williams, honored his legacy at a charity event in NYC.

“Dad had almost a childlike love, and he shared it with everyone,” the 31-year-old philanthropist told ‘Closer’ that night. “That ability to be generous and giving and funny is something we would want to share.”

Sadly, only a few months later, Zak and his two siblings — Zelda, 26, and Cody, 24 — find themselves locked in a painful feud with Robin’s widow, Susan Schneider, 50, over the comic’s estate and are preparing to go to court on March 30.

Robin’s will made clear that the bulk of his $50 million fortune — as well as his industry awards and showbiz memorabilia — should go to Zak, Zelda and Cody. Robin left Susan, whom he married in 2011, the home they shared in Tiburon, Calif., and a trust to cover her living expenses for the rest of her life.

The star was also an enthusiastic collector of watches, toys, figurines, records, books, fossils and more tchotchkes — troves that remain in the house where Susan lives. It’s her insistence on hanging on to the things Robin loved, and Susan’s treatment of him before his death, that have been causing his children so much heartbreak.
