Teresa Cohen, 32, exclusively told The Sunday Express that Robin tried his best to remain hopeful during his time at the Hazelden Addiction Treatment Centre near Lindstrom, Minnesota, but it was clear to Cohen there was “something deeper going on inside him.”
“Even though he would goof around from time to time, just like he did on screen, there were many other occasions where his face reflected deep depression and unhappiness,” she said.
The mother-of-two, who spent nine days in the treatment center with the actor, told The Daily Mail Robin said: "When I go, I want it to be quick and I want to be clean and sober. I don't want to die the slow agonizing death of an addict who makes everyone around him suffer."

When it was first reported he had again checked into a rehab facility his representative said, "After working back-to-back projects, Robin is simply taking the opportunity to fine-tune and focus on his continued commitment, of which he remains extremely proud."
While he was at Hazeldon, the actor visited a local Dairy Queen on June 29, just weeks before he committed suicide on August 11. The 63-year-old appeared thin and reserved in a photo taken with server Abby Albers, one of the last pictures taken of Robin before his death.
