We’re not surprised that Hollywood heartthrob Rob Lowe and international superstar Madonna went on a date in the ’80s!

In his new memoir Love Life, a follow-up to his extremely popular Stories I Only Tell My Friends, Lowe remembers his first meeting with the material girl and their date a few months later.

“She was cute and she was young and she was single,” the actor writes of the time he attended her LA concert in 1984. “I sat front row…she was a revelation.”

Lowe describes how a security guard approached him after the concert and said, “‘Madonna would like to see you backstage,’…She had flawless skin and eyes that imparted secrets.”

He told her he had just finished filming St. Elmo’s Fire and that he played the bay boy. “She seemed to like that,” Lowe reminisces.

The pair met up for a date a couple months later at a “giant dance club,” but while Lowe enjoyed lounging in the VIP section, Madonna had other plans.

“[We] were discussing where we would sneak off to at the end of the evening when she suddenly jumped up and said, ‘Let’s dance!’ writes Lowe. But the Parks & Rec star chose not to follow her.

“‘Suit yourself,’ she replied as she waded beyond the velvet rope into the fray…’You’re crazy,’ I said, half meaning it. ‘No I’m not,’ she said…’I’m just not going to let success f**k up my fun.'”

Looks like Lowe got schooled by the pop princess!
