A ‘Reba’ Revival Is “Definitely” Possible, According to the Show’s Star JoAnna Garcia Swisher

We need this to happen! It’s been over 10 years since Reba last graced our television screens, and now there’s hope for a reboot show. “I definitely think it’s possible and I think everybody would love to,” JoAnna Garcia Swisher, who played Cheyenne, recently revealed to Us Weekly. “There is so much love there and such fond memories of our time on the show. I feel like we kind of ended before we really wanted to and I think there is a lot of goodwill in that world and I know everybody would be supportive of it. I know there has definitely been a lot of talk about it.”

The beloved sitcom ran for six seasons, starting in 2001 and ending in 2007, and after 127 episodes, we’re still wondering how the Hart family is doing. The show centered around the family as they navigated Reba’s (Reba McEntire) divorce from her cheating husband (Christopher Rich), as well as high school senior Cheyenne’s teenage pregnancy with boyfriend Van Montgomery (Steve Howey).

“I think Van and Cheyenne would still be together and define all odds in their own quirky way. But it takes a village and that village was really strong,” JoAnna said. “They were the definition of a modern family. It was a very real and supportive family, a loving family and at the end of the day regardless of all the insanity that was circling our lives we loved each other until the end. And I think that allows you to beat the odds.” Hopefully there is a revival in the works so Cheyenne and Van’s relationship can be further explored!

According to JoAnna, the cast sees each other “all the time,” making a revival all the more likely! “We are all extremely close. I actually just saw Reba last month. We were at the CMAs together. But we talk all the time,” the actress continued. “Reba’s got a tight hold on her little brood because she makes sure we are all doing ok and taken care of. And Melissa Peterman is a really dear friend and a part of my family. We’re all just very close.”
