Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock Divorce After 26 Years of Marriage

Another country music marriage bites the dust.

Just months after Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock announced their separation, the 60-year-old singer took to Facebook on Thursday, Dec. 17 to finally confirm the couple's divorce after 26 years of marriage.

"Narvel and I are divorced. It was final October 28," she wrote on her Facebook to update her fans on the status of their relationship. "Thanks for all of those sweet messages. Narvel and I are friends. We have always been."

Though Reba’s fans may be shocked, close friends are anything but. “She and Narvel grew apart due to her busy schedule — touring, TV shows, her clothing, shoe and accessory line, and her return to recording,” a confidante previously told Closer. Marital tensions mounted, the pal continues, “They were arguing a lot and she didn’t want their personal life to be affecting their professional life.”

The couple — who tied the knot in 1989 — are parents to 25-year-old son Shelby, in addition to Narvel’s three children from a previous relationship (which includes son Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s husband).
