Queen Elizabeth "Really Liked" Watching Her Life Unfold on Netflix's 'The Crown' (REPORT)

Some of what happens on Netflix's The Crown would make our mothers blush, so we couldn't even imagine what it would be like if our mom was Queen Elizabeth herself! Apparently, Her Majesty actually loves watching the show about her young life, and has made a weekly tradition of watching it with her family!

“Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex love The Crown,” a senior royal source told The Sunday Express. “It has been a longstanding arrangement that they drive to Windsor [Castle] on the weekend to join the Queen for an informal supper while watching TV or a film. They have a Netflix account and urged her to watch it with them." That could have been a bad move since the show covers some intimate topics like Elizabeth's relationship with Prince Philip, and Princess Margaret's affair. Luckily, she's allegedly a fan, but there are some things she would reportedly change.

"Happily, she really liked it, although obviously there were some depictions of events that she found too heavily dramatized," the source explained. It seems like The Crown is taking the royal family by storm because earlier this year, Princess Eugenie admitted at a party that she was obsessed with the show. “The music is wonderful; the story is beautiful and you feel very proud to watch it," she gushed.

The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips and her hubby, Mike Tindall, also admitted they're “addicted” to watching. “She’s brilliant, the one who plays the Queen," said Mike of actress Claire Foy. "I think it’s a great show in terms of how they delivered it.” The show also stars Matt Smith as Philip, and both will reprise their roles for Season 2 of the show, set to return on Friday, Dec. 8. Unfortunately, they will no longer play their royal parts in Season 3, as there will be a time jump, so they will be recast with older actors. Hopefully that doesn't upset the Queen!
