Some of what happens on Netflix’s The Crown would make our mothers blush, so we couldn’t even imagine what it would be like if our mom was Queen Elizabeth herself! Apparently, Her Majesty actually loves watching the show about her young life, and has made a weekly tradition of watching it with her family! However, one scene in particular allegedly bothered the British monarch.

According to The Express, the 92-year-old was “particularly annoyed” when a Season 2 episode suggested Prince Philip had no sympathy for his son Prince Charles when he was bullied at his school Gordonstoun. “Philip has no sympathy for a plainly upset Charles while he is flying him home from Scotland. That simply did not happen,” the source told the outlet. “I can convey that [Queen Elizabeth] was upset by the way Prince Philip is depicted as being a father insensitive to his son’s wellbeing.”

However, the Queen reportedly understands there’s not much she can do about the inaccurate portrayal. “The Queen realizes that many who watch The Crown take it as an accurate portrayal of the Royal Family and she cannot change that,” the insider added.

That show also covers intimate topics like Elizabeth’s relationship with Philip and Princess Margaret’s affair. Luckily, she’s allegedly a fan, but there are some things she would reportedly change.

“Happily, she really liked it, although obviously there were some depictions of events that she found too heavily dramatized,” the source explained. It seems like The Crown is taking the royal family by storm because earlier this year, Princess Eugenie admitted at a party that she was obsessed with the show. “The music is wonderful; the story is beautiful and you feel very proud to watch it,” she gushed.

And she’s not the only royal family member who loves the series! “Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex love The Crown,” a senior royal source told The Sunday Express. “It has been a longstanding arrangement that they drive to Windsor [Castle] on the weekend to join the Queen for an informal supper while watching TV or a film. They have a Netflix account and urged her to watch it with them.”

The Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips and her hubby, Mike Tindall, also admitted they’re “addicted” to watching. “She’s brilliant, the one who plays the Queen,” said Mike of actress Claire Foy. “I think it’s a great show in terms of how they delivered it.” The show also stars Matt Smith as Philip, however, they will no longer play their royal parts in Season 3, as there will be a time jump, so they will be portrayed by Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies. Hopefully that doesn’t upset the Queen!
