Nearly 18 years after her death, an iconic piece of Princess Diana's wardrobe is set to hit the auction block.
A blue, embellished Versace gown the late royal donned during a 1991 photo shoot will be sold on June 27, just five days before what would have been Diana's 54th birthday. Bids for the silk dress — which features gold studs and blue topaz, aquamarine and white glass beads — will begin at $30,000, according to Invaluable Auctions.
Diana wore the stunning ensemble in a Harper's Bazaar cover photo published in November 1997, just months after Prince William and Prince Harry's mother sadly passed away in a car crash at age 36 in August 1997.
The dress is reportedly the first outfit the late Gianni Versace and his sister, Donatella, created especially for the people's princess.
