The stunning new cover was released by Harper’s Bazaar UK via Twitter on Thursday, Feb. 2. “We celebrate Diana’s legacy with a collectors’ edition March cover in partnership with @KensingtonRoyal,” the magazine’s tweet read.

The portrait of Diana — shot by photographer Patrick Demarchelier — shows the royal clad in a floor-length black gown with matching heels. The black and white picture was last shown on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK‘s August 1995 issue, which was released following Diana’s visit to the US.

Demarchelier reportedly granted the magazine permission to reprint the image to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Diana’s passing. Prince William and Prince Harry‘s mother sadly died at age 36 in an August 1997 car crash in Paris.

The new Harper’s Bazaar UK issue will be exclusively sold at the shop inside London’s Kensington Palace and on the Historical Royal Palaces online shop.

We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy.'”

“While the sculpting of the statue will begin soon, it is not currently possible to advise when it will be unveiled. It is hoped that this will occur before the end of 2017. Further announcements on the statue’s sculptor and design will be made in due course,” the message concluded.
