Prince William is quite the helicopter pilot!

During an important air mission on Wednesday, Jan. 13, the Duke of Cambridge touched down in an England schoolyard — and even joined the school’s shocked students for lunch in their cafeteria!

“It was really quite bizarre. We have the air ambulance use the school site quite regularly and whenever they land the staff go out, we clear the field of children and offer the crew refreshments,” The John Henry Newman School head teacher, Clive Matthew, told the BBC of the royal’s unexpected visit.

The 33-year-old royal — who enjoyed a lunch of roast chicken, cauliflower, cheese and vegetables — was “great” with pupils, Matthew added.

“He got himself some lunch and sat down,” he continued. “Then he was surrounded by a group of Year 11 boys who had a chat with him — it was really lovely.”
