It seems Prince William and Alicia Vikander have quite a lot in common! While speaking to Swedish news outlet The Local, the 29-year-old actress revealed she and William, 35, chatted about The Crown when they were introduced at a black-tie dinner in Stockholm during William and Kate Middleton‘s recent royal tour of Sweden and Norway.

When asked by her interviewer what she and the Duke of Cambridge discussed when they met, Alicia replied, “Well, I’ve seen The Crown! It was actually the first thing my friend and I started talking about with William.” Interestingly, the hit Netflix series about the royal family isn’t the only popular TV show Alicia and William bonded over! “Apparently, he’s a Game of Thrones fan, I was told,” the Tomb Raider star continued, adding that she was lucky enough to sit next to the future King during their dinner.

According to other recent reports, William isn’t the only member of the monarchy who has enjoyed watching The Crown. In fact, Queen Elizabeth herself has allegedly tuned in to the series — and really liked it! “Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex love The Crown,” a senior royal source told The Sunday Express. “It has been a longstanding arrangement that they drive to Windsor [Castle] on the weekend to join the Queen for an informal supper while watching TV or a film. They have a Netflix account and urged her to watch it with them.”

“Happily, she really liked it, although obviously there were some depictions of events that she found too heavily dramatized,” the source explained. One of the Queen’s grandchildren, Princess Eugenie, has also expressed her admiration for The Crown. “The music is wonderful; the story is beautiful and you feel very proud to watch it,” she once gushed.

Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike Tindall, are also fans! “She’s brilliant, the one who plays the Queen. I think it’s a great show in terms of how they delivered it,” Mike has said, adding he and Zara are “addicted” to watching. But, sadly, not every royal family member enjoys the series, which is expected to continue with a third season in 2019. The Crown star Matt Smith — who portrayed Prince Philip in Seasons 1 and 2 — recently shared that his friend once asked Philip if he had seen the show and the Duke of Edinburgh replied, “Don’t. Be. Ridiculous.” Guess not!
