One of Prince Harry's police escorts was involved in a car accident Thursday (Sept. 11) after his motorcade crashed into a minicab head-on.
The royal was heading to an official engagement when the incident occurred near the London Zoo. Per anti-terrorism training, Harry's driver steered through the wreckage and came to a stop several hundred feet away from the crash site.
The 29-year-old reportedly looked on in horror as the policeman was thrown 30 ft. off his bike. The taxi driver was unconscious at the scene and had to be cut out of his vehicle by emergency workers, various media outlets report.
The Special Escort Serviceman has since been discharged from the hospital while the taxi driver remains in stable condition. The Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the crash.
Despite the scary incident, Harry was seen smiling at the second day of his Invictus Games, a series of athletic competitions for wounded servicemen and women. The event wraps up this Sunday, Sept. 14.
