Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Wedding Guest List Could Include Many Famous Faces

Hollywood couldn’t have imagined a greater love story than Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s romance. She’s an actress, he’s a dashing prince… And now everyone’s favorite couple is engaged! Harry and Meghan are set to marry in May 2018, and it has left royal well-wishers with one question on their lips: Who will be invited to the royal wedding? Though Kensington Palace spokeswoman Julie Barley told Newsweek, “We’re focusing on the happy announcement of their engagement,” and the invitations “will be announced in due course,” there’s no doubt Harry’s personal and professional life will play a huge part in who will score a coveted invite. Scroll down to see who could make the list!

Royal Family members

Family is a huge factor for Harry, who is delighted to be adding “another member to his team.” There’s no doubt his entire British royal family including his father and stepmother, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, along with his uncles Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, and aunt Princess Anne will all be in attendance along with their respective families.

There is already a lot of frenzy over who will step up as Prince Harry’s best man. He, of course, took on the job for his big brother during Prince William‘s wedding to Kate Middleton back in 2011. Other candidates may include Thomas Inskip, James Matthews, Arthur Landon, Thomas van Straubenzee, Gabriel Macht, Patrick Adams, Rick Hoffman, and Wendell Pierce.

Politicians

By looking at past royal weddings, we know that British Prime Minister Teresa May will be at the event, along with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. Given the UK’s friendship with Canada, it is likely we’ll also see Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Topping this list would also have to be Prince Harry’s dear friends Barack and Michelle Obama. The former president was quick to voice his happiness for the new couple. “Michelle and I are delighted to congratulate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their engagement. We wish you a lifetime of joy and happiness together,” he tweeted following the news.

Harry’s famous friends

Being a dashing prince certainly has its perks! In his 33 years, Prince Harry has made some very famous pals, who will no doubt be at the ready to help their good friend mark this huge milestone in his life. Both Harry and Prince William are fab pals with David and Victoria Beckham. The British power couple went to Kate and Will’s 2011 nuptials and will be ready for another huge bash. Princess Diana‘s dear friend Elton John will undoubtedly play a part in the big day, along with fellow musician Ellie Goulding, who also performed at 2011 royal wedding. Model Cara Delevingne and actress Suki Waterhouse are additionally part of Harry’s inner circle.

Meghan’s family and friends

Her future husband may be British royalty, but Meghan is Hollywood royalty. And the Suits actress will have a very colorful guest list for her big day. The 36-year-old doesn’t have a relationship with her half-sister, Samantha Grant, as they’ve been estranged for about a decade, so we imagine that she won’t feature in the bridal line up. While we can’t wait to see Meghan Markle’s parents, mom Doria Ragland and her father Thomas Markle, on the royal balcony, something tells us that her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., might be sitting this one out.

Meghan’s second family — her dear friends — will also be vital for the big day. Meghan has been best friends with Lindsay Roth for over 15 years, with the pair meeting in college. The Suits actress stepped up as her maid of honor for her gal pal over a year ago, and there would be little surprise if Lindsay returns the favor. Meanwhile, Jessica Mulroney and Meghan have been BFFs for over a decade — and constantly appear on each other’s social media accounts. Meghan’s elite crew also includes many huge Hollywood names along with her beloved Suits co-stars. The actress is dear pals with fellow star Priyanka Chopra and tennis champion Serena Williams.

Kate could be Meghan’s maid-of-honor

Woman’s Day previously reported that Meghan did ask Kate to be a part of her bridal party, gifting her a gorgeous rose gold solitaire diamond bracelet from Tiffany & Co. worth close
to $2,000. The Cambridges are a huge fan of Meghan. “I’d been seeing her for a period of time when I literally didn’t tell anybody at all,” Harry shared in his first interview as an engaged man. “And then William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine, so you know being our neighbors, we managed to get that in a couple of — well quite a few times now and Catherine has been absolutey.” Meghan added, “She’s been wonderful.”

George and Charlotte could have special roles

It will come as little surprise that our favorite junior Cambridges Prince George and Princess Charlotte will play a part in their Uncle Harry’s wedding day. It is expected young George will be a ring bearer, while Charlotte will be a flower girl. The little tots already have experience with the bridal responsibility, shining in these shoes at their Aunty Pippa Middleton’s wedding.
