It turns out Prince Harry had set his sights on Meghan Markle long before they were introduced, and it’s all thanks to her role in Suits. In the new documentary, When Harry Met Meghan: A Royal Romance, royal expert Katie Nicholl revealed how Harry was a longterm fan of the legal drama and in particular, Meghan’s character, Rachel Zane.
"He had a crush on Rachel Zane two years before he met Meghan and the reason I know is that I was having drinks with one of his friends," Nicholl revealed to OK! Magazine. "She told me she’d been on a night out with Prince Harry. He was single at the time, so she said, 'Harry, who’s your ideal girl?' And he said Meghan Markle from Suits."
Meghan played the role of paralegal Rachel Kane for six years before quitting the show this month to concentrate on her royal relationship. The couple ended up meeting through fashion designer Misha Nonoo. Misha, who was previously married to an old friend of Harry’s, supposedly set the couple up.
Last month, they made their first public appearance as a couple when Meghan joined Harry court-side at the Invictus Games in Toronto. According to reports, the pair have visited Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace for afternoon tea and an engagement is now imminent.
