As Kate Middleton’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, prepares to wed financier James Matthews next month, there are two questions weighing on every royal watcher’s mind:

  1. Will the bride’s pert derrière take centre stage once more?

  2. What roles will her darling niece and nephew play in the highly-anticipated wedding?

Kensington Palace confirmed on Monday, April 10 that George, 3, will join the bridal party as a page boy and Charlotte — who will have just turned two ahead of the big day — will be a bridesmaid.

Interestingly, Charlotte has been entrusted with the rather grown-up role of bridesmaid — no petal tossing as a flower girl for this young royal!

George and Charlotte’s uncle Prince Harry will also be in attendance. Although, it remains unseen whether the 32-year-old has been gifted a plus-one for his longterm girlfriend, Meghan Markle.

Unfortunately, there’s is still no word on what role Pippa’s sister, the Duchess of Cambridge, will take on, however, it is said that the 35-year-old will give a reading during the nuptials.

Royal expert Judy Wade previously explained to People that Kate will likely not be her sister’s maid of honor in a bid to try and keep the focus on the bride.

Kate would upstage her sister [if she were bridesmaid],” she said. “It’s a tricky situation for Pippa. She would want her sister by her side, as who else would she trust to make things go well?”

“But if your sister is a future Queen, she is going to upstage the bride and draw attention. Kate would want to be in the background as much as possible,” Wade continued.

The wedding — set for May 20th at St Marks’s Church in Englefield — will be an intimate 150 guest affair with the reception expected to be held on the grounds of the Middleton Family’s Bucklebury home.

“There’s been a lot of speculation that Pippa would get married at her fiancé’s hunting lodge in Scotland or have a massive bash in London. But she’s a traditional girl and just wanted to get married at home,” a source told The Sun.

“Her mom, [Carole Middleton], has been very involved in all the wedding planning and she wants to show off their house to all their friends,” the insider continued.

“Plus, how can you compete with Kate, who got married at Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace? This way, Pippa can keep it private and very personal,” the source added.
