Prince George’s Seven Godparents Include an Interior Designer, a Duke, and More

As a member of the royal family, four-year-old Prince George in anything but an average kid. Since his birth, George has traveled the world — visiting countries like New Zealand and Canada — and he’s rubbed elbows with people like Barack Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. However, Prince William and Kate Middleton are determined to give George and Princess Charlotte, 2, a typical childhood.

“I want to bring up my children in a happy, stable, secure world and that is so important to both of us as parents,” he once told GQ. “I want George to grow up in a real, living environment. I don’t want him growing up behind palace walls, he has to be out there. The media make it harder, but I will fight for them to have a normal life.”

Of course, William wishes he was able to have his late mother, Princess Diana, along for his own parenting journey. “I would like to have had her advice,” he shared. “I would love her to have met [Kate] and to have seen the children grow up. It makes me sad that she won’t, that they will never know her.” Thankfully, George and Charlotte have plenty of other family members that shower them with love, including their plethora of godparents. In fact, George has seven godparents himself!
