Kate Middleton and Prince William released four snapshots of George to commemorate his 3rd birthday on Friday, July 22. In one photo, Princess Charlotte's older brother can be seen giving the royal family's dog, Lupo, a lick of his ice cream cone — and now the innocent-looking pic is causing controversy.

"It is lovely that Prince George is trying to help keep his family dog, Lupo, cool in these high temperatures," the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSCPA) said in a statement, according to [People](http://www.people.com/people/package/article/0,,2039522221020166,00.html)_.

"[But] we would advise people to be cautious when giving their dogs food meant for human consumption as some items, like chocolate, can be highly toxic to dogs and dairy items can be difficult for them to digest," the statement concluded.
