Prince William smiled from ear to ear as he held his wife Kate Middleton’s hand and led her into church for holiday services.
“I’m sorry we didn’t bring George, but you would have heard him in the church,” Kate, 33, who is six months pregnant with the couple’s second child, explained to well-wishers. William, 32, joked that he couldn’t wait to get home and find out what “destruction” Prince George had caused in his nursery.
While the 17-month-old prince might have his mischievous moments, he’s also the apple of his family’s eyes. “Prince George has single-handedly brought the royal family together,” says an insider, who adds that the tot’s great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, is “thrilled” to have him as her grandson.

“She knows that he will be leading the royal family into the future,” says the insider.
The affection the royals feel for Prince George has extended to Kate’s family too. “Kate, unlike other married-into-the-family royals, has been able to keep her family on the guest list at many royal family functions,” royals expert Anne Chertoff tells ‘Closer.’

Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole, and siblings Pippa and James, not only attended church services with the royals, they were also invited to a post-Christmas traditional pheasant hunt and afternoon tea at Queen Elizabeth’s Sangringham estate in Norfolk, England.
