Prince Carl Philip, 36, and Princess Sofia, 31, of Sweden welcomed their first child on Tuesday, April 19, the Swedish monarchy has confirmed.

“Princess Sofia gave birth to a healthy and prosperous child on Tuesday, April 19 at 6:25 p.m. Both mother and child are doing well,” the statement read, according to E! News.

The baby’s gender and name have not yet been revealed.

Sofia and Carl Philip — who married in a lavish royal wedding in June 2015 — previously announced they were expecting their first child last October with an official statement released by the Swedish Royal Court. “We are so happy and excited to announce that we are expecting our first child. We are very much looking forward to it,” the duo said of Sofia’s pregnancy at the time.
