This would be wild! Rumors have recently been swirling that former royal couple Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are back together more than 20 years after their highly-publicized 1996 divorce. While, it seems the Duke and Duchess of York aren’t, in fact, romantically involved today, the two are very close — and are even reportedly still living together.

Fans were especially curious about the status of their relationship after Sarah recently shared a photo of herself, Prince Andrew and their daughter Princess Beatrice laughing and looking happy together with the caption, “Great day with my family.” One user wrote, Still look lovely together… I so hope this is the beginning of something new.” Another added, “She makes him laugh. Wish you would get back together. Clearly still in love with one another.” What do you think the cryptic photo means?

Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane with their relationship, shall we? Andrew, 58, and Fergie, also 58, have known each other since childhood. While they both frequently attended posh polo matches as youngsters, they were formally re-acquainted in 1985 at the Royal Ascot. After dating for about a year, the Prince proposed to Sarah with a stunning, 10-carat Burmese ruby surrounded by diamonds in March 1986. They were later married in a high-profile royal wedding at London’s Westminster Abbey on July 23, 1986.

Fast forward a few years and the duo welcomed their first child, daughter Princess Beatrice of York, now 29, in August 1988. Nearly two years later, Beatrice’s little sister, Princess Eugenie of York, now 28, was born in March 1990. After around six years of wedded bliss, Andrew and Sarah announced their separation in March 1992 and they officially finalized their divorce in May 1996.

Following their split, Sarah and Andrew continued to live together at their Sunninghill Park estate in Berkshire, England, but in 2004, the Prince moved out to instead inhabit his late grandmother’s royal property. In 2013, Queen Elizabeth shockingly invited Fergie — who had often been plagued with controversy and negative headlines in the years since her divorce — to stay at the royal family’s summer home, Balmoral Castle, in Scotland. At the time, royal fans freaked thinking this meant Sarah was again in the monarchy’s good graces and could potentially remarry Andrew.

When asked back in 2013 if she’d ever tie the knot with Andrew for the second time, Fergie coyly replied, “He’s still my handsome prince, he’ll always be my handsome prince.” Today, the former couple allegedly still live together at the Royal Lodge at Windsor and reportedly jointly purchased a nearly $17 million ski lodge in Switzerland in 2016. They also regularly attend royal events, charity engagements, and outings with their daughters as a duo.

In an October 2016 interview, Sarah interestingly revealed she and her ex-husband are sort-of an item today. “We’re divorced to each other right now [but] we’ve never really left each other,” she said. When specifically asked if they were still together, the Duchess replied, “Yes.” So, are Fergie and Andrew really a couple today? It seems the two remain close friends and great co-parents to their girls but aren’t currently romantically involved — but, things could always change!
