The countdown to Pippa Middleton’s wedding to financier James Matthews is officially on!

And as we inch closer and closer to the royal-adjacent event of the year, details of what is bound to be an unforgettable wedding dress are slowly leaking to the public — as well as some of Pippa’s special requests for the big day.

While Pippa herself has kept quiet about the design and designer of the dress, a source close to celebrity fashion designer Giles Deacon, rumored to be creating the special gown, tells E! News the design is “very simple, elegant and it’s all handmade.” Adding, “Very few people have seen the finished thing.”

Designing the gown hasn’t been without its hiccups though. It has been taken in five times since Pippa’s initial fitting, according to the source, as she’s slimmed down in the last six months in the lead up to the big day.

In other Pippa wedding news, a rather bizarre request from the bride-to-be has come to light: wedding guests have been asked to bring a second outfit to change into for the reception.

Daily Mail diarist Richard Eden recently took to Twitter to share this latest clue about the impending nuptials, writing, “Guests at #PippaMiddleton’s wedding have been asked to take second outfit for the reception. Is this a trend? Sounds like a bore to me.”

Whether or not the request holds any water, social media has gone into overdrive picking apart the spectacularly inconvenient ask: “Where do they get changed?” “Sounds a tad ridiculous and over the top. One fancy, expensive outfit should do it.” “It already costs a fortune having a different outfit for every wedding…”

Of course, many brides chose to change into a second wedding dress for the reception — as Pippa’s older sister, Kate Middleton, did — but this is the first we’ve heard of guests being asked to mimic the trend.

As Life & Style previously reported, Pippa has implemented the “no ring, no bring” rule, limiting plus-ones to married and officially engaged couples at her nuptials, but Kate has asked her to make one exception for Prince Harry’s new girlfriend Meghan Markle.

It’s unclear whether or not Meghan will attend the ceremony or just the reception, but a friend reveals she “has been leaning toward staying out of sight at the ceremony.”

Closer Weekly previously reported on the upcoming May 20th affair, which is detailed in the video above. “There’s been a lot of speculation that Pippa would get married at her fiancé’s hunting lodge in Scotland or have a massive bash in London. But she’s a traditional girl and just wanted to get married at home,” a source told The Sun.

Kate and Pippa’s mom are helping out with the wedding planning! “Her mum has been very involved in all the wedding planning and she wants to show off their house to all their friends,” the insider continued.

All the very best with the final preparations, Pippa!
