So Chic!See Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s Stylish Nursery for Baby Son Shai

Dancing With the Stars couple Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy became first-time parents just a few weeks ago — and now, they’re showing off their baby son Shai‘s chic nursery!

The little one’s bedroom — designed by Vanessa Antonelli and photographed by Alan Barry — includes a relaxing color scheme of cream and gold, with hints of blue brought in through Shai’s toys.
The nursery’s decor additionally features safari wallpaper — dad Maksim’s favorite animal is an elephant! — and family heirlooms. It is also perfectly positioned just off the couple’s master bedroom in their New Jersey home.
Peta, 30, and Maks, 36, welcomed baby Shai, their first child, on Jan. 4, 2017. “Shai Aleksander Chmerkovskiy. 01/04/17. 5:34 a.m.,” Maks announced on Twitter following his son’s birth.

Rumors first swirled the pro dancers were expecting their first baby together in May 2016. The duo later confirmed the exciting news on Instagram one month later. “We couldn’t be happier. ❤️Baby Chmerkovskiy is coming,” Peta captioned a sweet snapshot of Maks kissing her tiny baby bump.

The DWTS couple first became an item in 2012 and dated for 10 months before calling it quits. They rekindled their romance last year and Maks popped the question to Peta in December 2015. “She said ‘yes,'” the TV star captioned a photo of himself proposing onstage during a performance of their show, Sway: A Dance Trilogy, in Miami.

In a previous interview, Peta gushed about starting a family with her love, Maks. “I would like to start [having kids] pretty soon. A little boy, and then a little girl,” she said. “Maks always wants to take care of everybody, which, to me, was the biggest sign that he’ll be an amazing father and take care of me the rest of my life.”
