Dave Madden, who played the long-suffering band manager Ruben Kincaid on the 1970's sitcom "The Partridge Family," has died at the age of 82.
His former agent revealed that he died of congestive heart and kidney failure early Thursday morning in Florida.
The actor's character on the show was often annoyed by the singing family's children, two of whom were played by David Cassidy and Danny Bonaduce.
Before the Canadian-born Madden began his acting career, he served in the United States Air Force and then made his on-screen debut in the U.S. sitcom "Camp Runamuck."
After "The Partridge Family" ended in 1974, Madden appeared on TV series such as "Starsky and Hutch," "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" and "Boy Meets World."
His final acting credit was for the animated film "Adventures in Odyssey: The Last Days of Eugene Meltsner" in 2000. He published his memoir, "Reuben on Wry," following his retirement.
Madden is survived by his second wife Sandy Martin and two children from his first marriage.
