The Obama family might have just won the award for cutest Christmas card! Barack Obama took to Twitter on Monday, Dec. 25 to wish his 98 million followers a Merry Christmas while sharing the sweetest photo of himself, wife Michelle Obama, and daughters Malia and Sasha Obama surrounded by little children dressed as Christmas elves.

“On behalf of the Obama family, Merry Christmas! We wish you joy and peace this holiday season,” the 44th President of the US wrote in his tweet, which was liked over one million times. It also garnered over 200,000 retweets.

It’s so nice to see the family all together, and we’re sure Barack is more than happy to have daughter Malia home from college for the holidays! The father-of-two has been open about how difficult it was for him to drop his first-born off at Harvard University back in August. “For those of us who have daughters, it just happens so fast,” he said at an event. “I dropped off Malia at college, and I was saying to Joe and Jill [Biden] that it was a little bit like open-heart surgery.”

“I was proud that I did not cry in front of her, but on the way back, the secret service was looking straight ahead pretending they weren’t hearing me as I sniffled and blew my nose. It was rough.” Such a relatable parenting moment!

The Obamas were not the only presidential family who shared a Christmas photo on social media. First Lady Melania Trump wished her followers a Merry Christmas on behalf of her and Donald Trump on Instagram this year, and it’s certainly a different photo compared to the Obamas’ joy-filled one. Commenters immediately pointed out that this could be the “saddest” Christmas photo of the season! Awkward!
