Nicole Kidman couldn't be happier. She's married to country star Keith Urban and the couple have two beautiful children — not to mention her two adopted kids from her first marriage. But the 47-year-old admits things haven't always been so easy.
Speaking to The Edit about her eight-year marriage, the actress fondly recalls Keith's anniversary shout-out at a recent concert. "I had two girlfriends sitting with me and they were like, 'Bitch!'" she shares of the sweet moment. "I went, 'Hey! I've been to hell and back!'"
Although she doesn't specifically mention her 2001 divorce from Tom Cruise, Nicole says that because of her past, she now has "the ability to go, 'Okay, this too shall pass.'"
The blonde beauty adds, "Sometimes you've just got to navigate through pain and depression. Maybe you have a down day, but life is contrast. I'd rather feel it and know it."
Switching back to her current relationship, Nicole said the pair are lucky they met later in life. "The sadness of that is we can't have six kids together, but the greatness of that is [we are done] with all the other stuff, so now we are totally present for this."
Although the Oscar winner is clearly at the top of her profession, she confesses family is much more important to her than work.
"It may sound old-fashioned, but I want the family to work. And I feel pain when I'm away; I literally feel a yearning and a pain," she shares. "When I was younger, it was different. I'd be like, 'Yeah I'll go, I'll go here, I'll go there.'"
Now, her days are much more low-key. "We watch America's Funniest Home Videos and reruns of The Brady Bunch, that's very much our life," she happily admits to the mag.
