Star Wars fans rejoice! Disney and LucasFilm just released some new information about the series' highly-anticipated next installment, much to the delight of sci-fi aficionados everywhere!
The J.J. Abrams-directed Star Wars: Episode VII will be set 30 years after 1983's Return of the Jedi and "will star a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces," according to the Star Wars website.
Fans immediately began buzzing about the possibility of a reunion between original franchise stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill, though nothing has been confirmed.
Disney also announced that the seventh film is set to be released on December 18, 2015 and will begin shooting this May.
Although the cast for the new trilogy of films has yet to be revealed, rumors have circulated that Girls actor Adam Driver and Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o have signed on to be apart of the project.
