Actress Lainie Kazan — who is most known for playing Toula's mom, Maria Portokalos, in My Big Fat Greek Wedding and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 — has been hospitalized after surviving a scary car crash earlier this week.
According to TMZ, the 75-year-old star was driving in California on Saturday, April 9 when her car reportedly drifted into another lane.

Eyewitnesses told the entertainment news outlet Lainie's Lincoln SUV then struck another vehicle head-on, causing the accident. The actress and the other driver were reportedly both conscious after the crash but were subsequently hospitalized.

Lainie's rep has not commented on the accident nor the star's condition at this time. The crash is still under investigation by authorities.
