Daniel Gerson, a talented screenwriter who co-wrote Disney-Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., has sadly died. He was 49-years-old.

Daniel passed away at his LA home on Saturday, Feb. 6 after battling brain cancer, his family wrote in his The New York Times obituary published earlier today.

“Daniel expressed a unique zest for life, its big and little moments, and brought that spirit to all of his loved ones. His sense of humor was exceptional… He was a fiercely loyal, loving and caring human being. The humanity, humor, and compassion that he brought to his writing, he brought to his family and friends in equal measure,” his family wrote.
