What a lucky lady! Michelle Obama has been super busy lately promoting her new memoir, Becoming, and eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Barack Obama‘s wife seems to be sporting a recently upgraded engagement ring and wedding band in new photos.

In an exclusive new interview, Closer Weekly chatted with Kathryn Money, Vice President of Strategy and Merchandising at Brilliant Earth, about how the former First Lady’s original ring compares to her updated bling.

As for her new rock, Kathryn told us, “Michelle’s upgraded engagement ring also has a timeless look befitting her overall style, with some additional sparkle. Her new elegant ring features an approximately 3-carat princess or cushion cut center diamond in a white gold pavé diamond accented setting.”

“Her new wedding ring matches perfectly for a seamless bridal set. Depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center diamond, we estimate the cost of the ring at $30,000 to $50,000,” Kathryn added. While recently promoting her new book, Michelle gushed that she and Barack are now “finding each other again” after 26 years of marriage and leaving the White House behind. “We have dinners alone and chunks of time where it’s just us — what we were when we started this thing: no kids, no publicity, no nothing. Just us and our dreams,” she revealed. They seem like such a cute couple!
