Michael Strahan began his first day on Good Morning America Tuesday, receiving a rip-roaring welcome from his new co-workers when he rolled in shortly after 8 a.m.
Co-hosts Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer and George Stephanopoulos were on hand to coach the former pro footballer through his first day, explaining that the 42-year-old will be on the program a couple days a week and report on stories of interest to him.
Michael will continue to co-host his 9 a.m. show, Live with Kelly and Michael.

George even got a few gifts for his new comrade, joking, "A super-sized personality deserves a super-sized cup," before handing Michael a mega coffee mug.
He also gave the former defensive end a shiny alarm clock, which the dad-of-four noted was set to the wrong time but happily accepted, saying, "It's a pleasure to get up early."
The top-ranked morning show has experienced a few anchor shake-ups over the past couple of months when newscaster Josh Elliott and weatherman Sam Champion left for NBC Sports and the Weather Channel, respectively.
Former correspondent Amy Robach was announced as Josh's replacement last month while Ginger Zee took over for Sam at the end of last year.
