Nearly five years after he was diagnosed with tongue cancer, Michael Douglas may sadly be plagued with even more health problems.
According to a new report, the 70-year-old actor is losing his eyesight and going blind due to his past cancer treatments.

Those close to Michael — who is married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, 45 — fear his “red, inflamed eyes” may indicate the Oscar winner is battling glaucoma, a disorder that causes optic nerve damage and can lead to blindness if left untreated.

On Monday, May 4, an onlooker at an American Cancer Society event held in NYC noted the actor's eyes "looked severely inflamed and bloodshot."
"I wondered how he could see. It was frightening!” the source added of his appearance.

In August 2010, the father-of-three revealed he had been diagnosed with stage IV tongue cancer and underwent chemotherapy and radiation to treat the invasive disease.
According to Dr. Stuart Fischer — a New Jersey-based surgeon who did not treat the star — the issues with Michael's eyes may be attributed to "drops used to treat the disease" or his reported medical marijuana use.
