Mia Farrow has released an emotional statement in the wake of her son Thaddeus' sudden death.
"We're devastated by the loss of Thaddeus, our beloved son and brother. He was wonderful, courageous person who overcame so much hardship in his short life. We miss him. Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and words of kindness," the 71-year-old actress wrote on Twitter on Thursday, Sept. 22.

Thaddeus sadly committed suicide at age 27 on Wednesday, Sept. 21. The Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner later confirmed the actress' son died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his torso.

Mia previously adopted Thaddeus — who was a paraplegic due to polio — from Calcutta, India in 1994. The actress is additionally a mother to 11 other living children. Our thoughts are with Mia and her family during this difficult time.
