Most actors don’t like to watch themselves on screen, but for Meryl Streep, it wasn’t her acting that made her uncomfortable while watching her latest film “August: Osage County.”
“I did cry the first time I saw the movie, because, you know, the way I looked,” Meryl admitted at a recent panel discussion for the film. “I mean you look in the mirror and think ‘it’s not that bad’ and then 40 feet across, in large, it’s a different story.”

The actress, who made the audience laugh throughout the whole discussion, was in a playful mood, beginning each question with a joke or two.
When asked how she keeps her energy up take after take, Meryl jokingly answered, “A lot of drugs,” before quickly adding, “I’m really, really kidding. No and sadly because I could have used some uppers or something, my god.”
In all seriousness, the actress replied, “You know you love the opportunity to absolutely let it rip until the 15th time, and then you just want to kill yourself.
“It is a question of stamina, a lot of it…because everybody deserves the most you can give them every single time, even when you are wrung out and dry, you still have to try.”
