It's been a rough couple of days for former Today Show anchor Meredith Vieira after her husband, Richard Cohen, was admitted to the hospital after suffering a blood clot.

Meredith shared with her Twitter followers Monday:

She went on to thank the "fabulous docs and nurses at St John's Riverside Hospital and Mt Sinai Hospital," sharing with concerned fans how her husband is now "out of the woods."

Though he was still in the hospital as of Tuesday morning, Meredith was able to joke about her husband's bettering condition, tweeting:

Richard, a former senior producer for CNN and CBS News, has been married to the former View co-host since 1986 and the pair have three children together.

When Meredith stepped down as Today anchor in 2011, she cited spending time with family as the main reason and assured fans that Richard, who has multiple sclerosis, was doing well at the time.

“My husband Richard is in good health, and that’s part of the reason I want to leave right now because…I want to be there with him and I want to have fun and I want to appreciate our time together and not have to punch a clock so much," she said.

There's been no word on whether her husband's health problems will effect the start date of Meredith's new syndicated talk show, set to premiere in September.
