Melissa Rivers is finally breaking her silence on Kathy Griffin's exit from Fashion Police — and what she's said about the comedienne isn't pretty.
"She s--t all over my mother’s legacy in her statement on leaving," the 47-year-old executive producer of the E! show told Hoda Kotb in a new interview, referring to her late mother, Joan Rivers.

Kathy, 54, succeeded Joan on the hit celebrity fashion commentary program after its three-month hiatus following the comedienne's death from cardiac arrest at age 81 last September. After appearing on only seven episodes, Kathy announced she was leaving the show on Thursday, March 12.
"By calling the comedy and the style of it old-fashioned, it was like, I understand what you were doing, you’re trying to save yourself, but don’t crap all over my mother to do it," Melissa continued.

She additionally revealed the star's exit from the show was due to her not meshing well with the program's other co-hosts — Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and Brad Goreski — and staff "on a lot of levels."

Prior to Kathy's announcement, Kelly, 30, also stepped down as co-host to "pursue other opportunities" on Feb. 27 after Giuliana, 40, made headlines for a controversial and offensive remark about singer Zendaya's dreadlocks during the program's Feb. 23 Oscars special.
After Kelly and Kathy's sudden departures from the show, E! announced the series would again be put on hiatus from March until September 2015.
