It seems Megyn Kelly can’t catch a break! After reports swirled that celebrities are reconsidering appearing on Megyn Kelly Today due to her recent tiff with Jane Fonda, an insider told In Touch Weekly that “the end can’t be far off” for Megyn’s eponymous series. “Megyn was already having trouble booking celebrities. Who’s going to want to go on her show now knowing she may trash them afterward?” the source said.

The Hollywood Reporter also recently alleged that “actors don’t trust her” after Megyn slammed Jane on her show. The outlet additionally reported that talent representatives have told NBC they’re thinking twice about booking their clients on Megyn Kelly Today. Others said this was the last straw after Megyn decided to call out Jane at the end of a recent episode, a few months after the Oscar winner denied answering Megyn’s plastic surgery question on live TV.

What did Megyn Kelly say to Jane Fonda?

In September, during the first week of her show, Megyn said to Jane, “You’ve been an example to everyone in how to age beautifully and with strength and unapologetically. You admit you’ve had work done, which I think is to your credit. But you look amazing. I read that you said you’re not proud to admit you’ve had work done. Why not?” to which she candidly replied, “We really want to talk about that now?” Awkward!

So, with NBC reps apparently knowing she was going to do it, Megyn put Jane on blast after the actress very recently called Megyn a poor interviewer. After viciously dissing Jane over and over again and calling her “Hanoi Jane,” she concluded, “I gave her the chance to empower other women, young and old, on a subject which she purports to know well and she rejected it. That’s OK. But I have no regrets about the question.”

Apparently, NBC was shocked at how far Megyn took her comments against Jane. “The problem is that nobody at NBC is controlling Megyn. They paid her more than $20  million to host the 9  a.m. show, and she’s been given too much power. But the fact remains: You can’t say those things, or be so aggressive, on morning TV,” an insider told Page Six.

This isn’t the first time Megyn stirred the pot in Hollywood. Within the first two weeks of her show’s debut, she offended many viewers when she asked a Will & Grace fan, “is it true that you became a lawyer — and you became gay — because of Will?” The show’s star Debra Messing then reportedly got herself in trouble with NBC after slamming the interview on social media.

Life & Style previously reported that NBC execs are worried about Megyn’s bad ratings and backlash from fans. “Megyn just doesn’t come across to the viewers as authentic,” a source told the publication. On top of that, In Touch has stated that the network conducted focus groups about Megyn. “The feedback was incredibly negative,” said the source. “The focus groups weren’t conducted until after Megyn was hired. Why wasn’t this done before she was hired to determine if she would be a good fit for the network?” We’re not sure what all of this negative attention means for Megyn and her show, but we just hope things get better at Today for the sake of, well, everyone.
