Nothing brings Meg Ryan greater joy these days than being with her 10-year-old daughter, Daisy.
“Meg is as dedicated a parent as you’d ever want to see — keeping Daisy’s best interests in mind, having fun with her, taking her to school events and dance lessons really keeps her grounded,” a friend tells Closer of the star’s unbreakable bond with her fifth grader. “Meg really wants to keep the focus on the great things in her life.”

Meg has been remaking her life — and her home — since breaking up with rocker John Mellencamp in mid-2015 after a four-year relationship because he wouldn’t leave his beloved Indiana and live full-time with her in NYC.
Before their split, “She and John were apartment-hunting, but when Meg called things off, she decided to stay where she is but make some changes” to her $8 million downtown NYC loft, says the friend. And she’s constantly consulting her daughter. “She’s keeping Daisy involved in the remodeling,” her friend explains.

Family even comes first for Meg at work. After putting her cinematic career on the back burner for a decade to focus on raising Daisy, Meg co-stars with her son, Jack Quaid, 23 (from her 10-year marriage to Dennis Quaid), in Ithaca, her big-screen directorial debut.
