The “TODAY” show’s Halloween episode has become a television must-see due to the crazy costumes that the co-anchors wear. We couldn’t wait to find out what Matt Lauer and the gang would choose for this year, and we were not disappointed!
Matt Lauer came out in the red swimsuit made famous by Pamela Anderson’s character in the ‘90s hit “Baywatch.” The host ran along a makeshift beach and carried a lifesaver as the crowd went wild. Lauer completed his beach babe look with fake boobs and a blonde wig.
Willie Geist also went with the “Baywatch” theme, taking on the important role of Mitch Buchannon, aka David Hasselhoff, and his bevy of chest hair. Fellow third-hour anchor Al Roker went as Mr. T, gold chains included, and Natalie Morales teamed up with Savannah Guthrie to portray the '70s comedy duo Laverne & Shirley.
And for fourth hour hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, who always coordinate their costumes, they played “Flintstones” wives Wilma and Betty, even driving onto set in their own stone and wood car powered by their ginormous feet!
“TODAY” isn’t the only daytime talk show to dress up for Halloween. Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan brought a lot of laughs dressed as Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke for their “Live with Kelly and Michael” Halloween episode.
And Miley also showed up on the “Good Morning America” set with her very own wrecking ball (anchor Lara Spencer embodied the pop princess) alongside Josh Elliot’s Ron Burgandy from “Anchorman,” Robin Robert’s Olivia Pope from “Scandal,” Sam Champion’s King Joffrey from “Game of Thrones” and astronaut George Stephanopoulos.
We stand corrected: @LaraSpencer coming in like a #WreckingBall just may be the best moment! #GhoulMorningAmerica pic.twitter.com/RXJcbvKzi3— Good Morning America (@GMA) October 31, 2013
