Her time on Today was quick and so was her friendship with Matt Lauer, who was fired from the morning talk show on Wednesday, Nov. 29. Ann Curry appeared on Today from 2011 until 2012 alongside her co-host Matt, and in a recent interview, she opened up about life after NBC.

When speaking with In Touch Weekly, Ann talked about who she still keeps in touch with today after her departure — and noticeably left Matt’s name out of the mix. “I’ve spoken with Tamron [Hall],” Ann told the news outlet. “She’s just a great woman, I really enjoy her.”

Funny enough, Tamron made her abrupt exit from Today back in February after news broke that Megyn Kelly would be joining the show and she’d lose her 9 a.m. slot. It’s also been said that Matt thinks Megyn is “tarnishing the network’s image.”

Today, Ann is working on a new project with PBS called We’ll Meet Again — and she’s not missing Today a bit. “It’s been fun to be independent, to be honest,” she said. “You can really focus on what you want to do and find people you want to work with who are really amazing.” And just like how Ann got revenge on Matt — who had a lot to do with her exit since the two didn’t have any chemistry — it was also very recently announced that Ann’s BFF Tamron is getting back at Megyn by taking on a new TV hosting gig.

It also seems Ann doesn’t even tune in to Today anymore to see what Matt or anyone else on the show is up to now. “These days I get a lot of my news from print,” she confessed. Who knows, maybe she will return to Today now that Matt is gone!
