Mark Zuckerberg is a new dad!
The Facebook founder, 31, and his wife, Dr. Priscilla Chan, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Max, Mark announced on Tuesday, Dec. 1. “Priscilla and I are so happy to welcome our daughter Max into the world!” he wrote on his Facebook page.
According to People, the little one arrived early last week and weighed in at 7 lbs., 8 oz. Mom and baby are healthy and doing well.

In the birth announcement, the couple additionally revealed they will contribute 99 percent of their Facebook shares—worth about $45 billion today—to their charitable foundation, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, an organization with the aim of "advancing human potential and promoting equality."

"Your mother and I don’t yet have the words to describe the hope you give us for the future,” Mark wrote in a letter to his newborn daughter. “Your new life is full of promise, and we hope you will be happy and healthy so you can explore it fully. You’ve already given us a reason to reflect on the world we hope you live in.”
The couple—who first met in 2003 and married in 2012—previously announced they were expecting their first child last July after Priscilla sadly suffered three miscarriages.
