As Madonna‘s messy custody battle over her 15-year-old son Rocco Ritchie continues, the singer has opened up to her fans about the unfortunate disagreement.

During her concert in New Zealand on Friday, March 4, the 57-year-old star dedicated her performance of “La Vie en Rose” to the teen. “That is my son, who I mentioned earlier,” Madonna told the audience. “He is actually 15, and it’s true, there is no love stronger than a mother for her son.”

“If I talk about him too much, I might cry,” she tearfully continued. “I would like to dedicate this song to him. It’s a love song for a man, but I know he’ll be one, one day. I hope he hears this somewhere and knows how much I miss him.”

Reports first surfaced that Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie, 47, are involved in a messy custody disagreement over their son in December 2015. Their dispute is allegedly ongoing.
